Swimming Carnivals for 2017

Fantastic Swimming Carnival enjoyed by all at Yarrawonga- College P-12

The Swimming carnival for Years 7 – 12, held on Friday the 24th of February was an excellent event that was enjoyed by all.

The year 12 Students and in particular all the house and vice captains lead the way encouraging all students “to have a go”, participate and compete.  With a range of novelty events and a full list of competitive events there were plenty of opportunities for our students to get wet.

Our teaching staff were fantastic in the way they executed their roles professionally and with enthusiasm and this was a major factor in the overall success of the carnival.

The carnival was extremely well supported by the Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club who provided us with equipment and expertise for the day. Special thanks to Michael Fletcher and Lynden Hart who were a great support to the day. The pool Staff led by Sandra Becker were extremely professional and accommodating and the pool was presented in perfect condition.

A blue ribbon events that were hotly contested was the Yarrawonga sprint a handicapped 50 metre sprint event between the age group fifty metre winners. This was won by Flynn Fletcher and Freya Fletcher. The biathlon were both taken out by these great athletes as well.

The house captain and vice captains did an outstanding job and organising and leading their teams. They were:

A team of over 45 competitors will represent the College at the Ovens and Mitta Carnival in Wodonga on Wednesday 1 March.

It was great to see some family and friends come down and support our students and we encourage everyone to come and support the Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals that will be held in Term Two and Three.
