Celebrating 140 years of Yarrawonga Primary School

On Thursday 30 November Yarrawonga College P – 12 will be presenting a live outdoor theatre production titled “From Bullock Drawn Drays to the School of Today” celebrating the past 140 years of Yarrawonga Primary School.

In 2018 the “Red School’ as it is fondly known will close its doors and move to a brand new site in Gilmore Street. Before we do this we cannot leave without paying tribute to this significant fixture within our Community.

Opening in 1877, this school has played host to so many families over its journey and as a fitting tribute a full theatre production will be presented at the picturesque Yarrawonga Yacht Club Foreshore highlighting significant events that occurred over this 140 year period.

We warmly invite all our current and in particular former students, teachers and interested community members to this event as we gather together fondly remember and reunite with old classmates and colleagues at this at this One Night Only event.

So grab a picnic blanket, chair or bean bag, family and friends and make your way to the Yarrawonga Yacht Club Foreshore for 6pm curtain call.  We recommend securing a spot early as we are anticipating a huge crowd.

Information can be obtained by contacting Michelle Klowss (Director 0459703505) or Karen Mullavey (Event Co-ordinator) mullavey.karen.k@edumail.vic.gov.au.

On Thursday 9 November Michelle Klowss spoke to ABC Goulburn Murray’s Sandra Moon about this production.  To listen to this interview please click on the below link.
