Australian Mathematics Competition

The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is an annual event run across the nation for students from Years 5 – 10.

Over 1,000 students share the prizes and around 50% of participants qualify to receive a Certificate of High Distinction, Distinction or Credit. All other entrants in the competition receive a Certificate of Participation or a Proficiency Certificate. There is an emphasis on problem solving, a valuable life skill, and the questions are designed to be fun for the student.

All students will receive a certificate showing their level of achievement, which is a valuable addition to their academic reference. Students also receive a detailed report showing how they performed on each problem with comparative statistics. The cost of the competition is $5 per student.  The balance will be subsidized by the school.

We believe that this would be a worthwhile experience for your son/daughter. As an able student of Mathematics, it is important to participate in national and international competitions in this learning area. To assist both students and parents, there are selected practice problems available for download from the AMT website (www.amt.edu.au).
