College Overview Statement

Yarrawonga College P-12 now operates across two campuses: Gilmore Street (Prep to Year 8) and Pinniger Street (Years 9–12), both within walking distance. The move to a two-campus model has been highly successful, especially for Prep–Year 4 students now benefiting from large, flexible learning spaces.

The College has a long-term vision to deliver a 0 to 99 education and sporting precinct. Early learning and adult education facilities are planned for the Pinniger Street site, while all three learning stages—P–4, 5–8, and 9–12—will eventually be consolidated on Gilmore Street. Recently Yarrawonga College P-12 received funding to plan for the next stage of consolidating all year levels on the Gilmore Street site, (Prep to Year 12).

Yarrawonga College P-12 is currently discussing future Adult Education options with Moira Shire, TAFE and universities interested in setting up rural options for students. The College has a future vision of live and learn, local provision of education at the highest level.

The College’s operational vision is: Empowering Learners, Making Connections, Achieving Success. YCP-12 values include Integrity, Cooperation, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility—guiding students and staff to act ethically, work collaboratively, communicate honestly, treat others with care, and take ownership of their actions.

YCP-12 engages with the community in several ways including the Basketball stadium supporting a large local competition and sporting clubs utilise oval spaces alongside other community use agreements.

Senior students have many opportunities through local business and industry for work experience/placement and school-based apprenticeships. The College has state leading exit destination data and provides a strong balance of academic and technical/trade options for students.

The College has a well-resourced mental health and wellbeing program supported by a comprehensive team of professionals. Diversity is celebrated through many student led groups across the College.
