Humanities
Humanities at Yarrawonga P-4 Campus focusses on learning about People, Places and Processes of the Past and Present. It is a broad subject which gives our students from Foundation to year 4 the opportunity to explore many different areas of learning. These areas include Geography, History, Civics and Citizenship, Culture and Environmental Sustainability, whilst also incorporating elements of Science and The Arts. These overarching themes create a framework for students to learn across wide subject areas and supports our students in a developing a deeper understanding of the world around them.
At Yarrawonga College P-4 Campus we nurture a love of learning through varied and stimulating learning experiences. These experiences interest and engage students, encourage critical and creative thinking whilst helping our students make connections between the classroom and the real world.
Through the Humanities curriculum, we encourage students at Yarrawonga P-4 to see themselves as explorers, scientists, historians, researchers, creators and thinkers, who actively contribute to the community, care for the environment and respect different cultures and beliefs.
