COVID – 19 (Coronavirus) Update from our College Principal
Please read the communication from the Victorian Chief Health Officer today around government schools staying open in the State of Victoria.
Latest Information (as at 19 March 2020)
The situation changes on a daily basis, however currently the State Government is insistent that schools will stay open, rest assured we ensure that State Government and Victorian Department of Education regulations are enacted to protect the safety and health of your child/ren.
POSSIBLE FUTURE ONLINE LEARNING IF REQUIRED
To ensure that Yarrawonga College P-12 is prepared for any change in the way the State Government and Education Department respond to the current situation, leaders have been working to prepare a possible future online learning approach if required.
Your child’s teacher may have or have had conversations with your child/ren over the coming days/week to identify if there are any barriers that need addressing or supports required for children to access a potential online program.
At this stage it is clear through the Minister’s letter that government state schools will remain open.
PARENT SUPPORT
Currently our college counsellor is working on some supports for parents to assist conversations with your children in the home, this should be on Facebook and pushed out through Compass in the near future.
Kind Regards
Damien Keel
