Science

At the P-4 Campus we believe every student needs to develop an awareness of science in the world around them.

In Foundation to Level 2, the focus is on science in everyday life and how science impacts each student in their lives and in our local area. In Levels 3 and 4, the curriculum focus is on recognising questions that can be investigated scientifically and then undertaking investigations. Across P-4 all students will investigate Biological, Chemical, Physical and Earth and Space Science, developing and extending their knowledge, skills and understanding of scientific concepts from year to year.

Science is a dynamic, collaborative and creative human endeavour arising from our desire to make sense of our world through exploring the unknown, investigating universal mysteries, making predictions and solving problems.

Through the Science curriculum at Yarrawonga College students are supported to experience the joy of scientific discovery and we nurture their natural curiosity about the world around them. Through doing this students develop critical and creative thinking skills and challenge themselves to identify questions and draw evidence-based conclusions using scientific methods.
