TRAFFIC SAFETY MESSAGE FROM OUR COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

Thankyou all for following Moira Shire’s new rules to provide a safer passage for families to and from school.

For your information please read the following:

Parents, could you please drive cars one way for pick up and drop off (Street away from Town) Southerly direction, whilst buses travel in a Northerly direction towards town.

**Please don’t be tempted to turn over double lines or travel against the flow of traffic.

P-4 parents please limit taking up car spaces to a short period of time unless an interview time has been made with the classroom teacher to ensure ease of access for our entire school community.

Year 3 to Year 8 students please drop off and pick up students from the Show Grounds Car Park that has been upgraded to two lanes with parking. Please enter at the town end of the loop and exit at the point next to the 5-8 Campus and only turn left onto Gilmore Street.

Year 9 to Year 12 students please drop off and pick up either on Pinniger Street or enter the loop on Pinniger Street at the town end and exit through the Southern end.

Could P-4 students please wait for further notice before riding their bikes to and from school.  We are working on a safe travel route for younger students that will most likely include a Bike Shelter at the Year 5 – 8 Campus. Younger students would then ride their bike to this point and use the internal concrete paths for safe pedestrian access between campuses.

**Parents please do not use Staff Car Parks, these are for staff only.

Works are still occurring on Gilmore Street to make parking and dropping off more convenient for our families.

When it rains like our first day of 2018 (Murphy’s Law) the drains fill up and that makes it difficult to get onto college land. The works that will occur in the very near future to address this problem include;

Moira Shire will be installing cross overs (one per 4 cars).

A granite path will be laid inside the tree line that will link the Year 5 – 8 Campus with the P – 4 Camus.

The idea is that students and parents (if required) will walk over the drain and walk along the path to the entrance of the P-4 Campus, or walk along to the entrance of the 5-8 Campus and then use the internal concrete paths that link the campuses up.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact our College on 5744 1751.

Kind Regards

Damien Keel
College Principal
