140 years of Yarrawonga Primary School
Celebrating the History of Yarrawonga Primary School
Yarrawonga Primary School, School No. 1819, holds a proud place in the history of our community. Established in 1877, the school’s first permanent brick building was erected in 1880 and served generations of local families. For more than a century, Yarrawonga Primary School provided high-quality education and became a cornerstone of community life.
In 2010, Yarrawonga Primary School merged with Yarrawonga Secondary College to form Yarrawonga College P-12, uniting the community’s education into a seamless P–12 pathway. The original primary school site, later referred to as the “Former Yarrawonga Primary School Site,” closed in 2018 but continues to hold great cultural and historical significance.
