MUSIC, DANCE, DRAMA – Years P–6
At YCP–12, in P–4 Music, students explore the joy of music through singing, movement, rhythm games, and simple instruments. They learn basic musical concepts such as beat, pitch, tempo, and dynamics using tuned and untuned instruments in a fun and interactive environment. Through creative activities and group participation, children develop listening skills, coordination, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Students also explore elements of Drama and Dance in fun and engaging activities.
During Music lessons in Years 5–6, students use keyboards, guitars, and ukuleles to further develop their understanding of musical concepts. Music lessons also incorporate elements of Dance and Drama as students participate in drumming circles, dramatic script reading and performances, dance improvisation, song analysis, and songwriting.
