STEM Years Prep – Six
Our Primary School STEM Program inspires curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Guided by the Engineering Design Brief, students explore real-world challenges by planning, designing, testing, and refining their projects. They develop critical thinking as they learn to improve their work through constructive feedback and testing results.
The STEM program blends Digital Technologies and Design Technologies to provide a balanced, future-focused education. Students use Scratch Jnr and Minecraft Education to create interactive digital solutions, while exploring coding and computational thinking with Bee Bots, LEGO We Do, LEGO Spike and Ozobots. In Design Technology, they bring ideas to life through hands-on construction projects, using a variety of recycled and craft materials to solve problems and meet design goals.
The Year 5–6 STEM program also integrates the Science curriculum through dynamic and engaging cross-curricular lessons, building on the scientific knowledge and understanding students developed from Prep to Year 4.
Learning is structured and sequential, building skills year-by-year in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0. Students work both individually and collaboratively, fostering teamwork, communication, and resilience. They are encouraged to think creatively, experiment with ideas, and adapt their designs for improvement.
Our STEM program equips students with the skills, confidence, and innovation mindset needed for the future, while making learning exciting and meaningful. It’s where young minds become creators, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
