High Ability Learners
Accelerated Learning
Yarrawonga College P-12 provides unique opportunities for high ability students to engage in accelerated learning pathways across their schooling journey. By offering a continuous and connected curriculum, the College can identify, extend, and challenge students from their early years through to senior secondary schooling.
The school provides differentiated learning in all subjects at all levels, supported by Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students identified as requiring advanced pathways. Students can participate in extension opportunities such as VHAP, Australian Mathematics Competition, Write a Book in a Day, creative writing workshops and public speaking.
In the later secondary years, we offer Accelerated VCE pathways, where students can undertake VCE subjects in Year 10 and access VCE VET courses or university extension subjects.
Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP)
The Victorian High-Ability program provides high-ability students in Years 5 to 8 the opportunity to participate in 10-week online extension and enrichment programs, in English and Mathematics. The virtual program, delivered by Virtual School Victoria, focuses on extending and developing students’ Mathematic and English abilities.
